Anybody watching American Inventor? |
|
The woman who just presented the "Beddie Pouch" after investing $12K in it was shocked to learn that the judge already had one at home.
Another guy who had a decent invention--a portable gym--was so funny in trying to convince the judges. He said a whole lot of people had invested in the invention and if they picked him "I'm taking you with me."
You had to be there. But is anybody else watching?

1. I saw the "Beddie Pouch" |
|
I wonder if the book that she talked about was like the one the guy with the question marks on his suit offers. I haven't seen much of him lately.

I felt sorry for the beddie pouch lady. I've seen those inventors commercials on TV before (usually daytime TV), and it wouldn't suprise me to find out they are a scam.
But I find it hard to believe she would've spent $12k on her invention already without having done any basic market research. To me, that would be the first step I'd take before I spent a large sum of $$.

"inventor development"-type businesses are, as a cautionary tale to would-be inventors...

3. I watched, as there wasn't much else on (besides "The Office")... |

it was better than I thought it would be. Some of the products actually seemed to have merit! The judges are quite the train wreck - I think we'll see physical confrontation between the woman and the bald inventor geek sometime down the road!

I thought the "punk rock" guitar guy was a total ass. Yeah, it's a useful invention, but speaking as a guitar player of 25 years it ain't that big a deal. I've seen guys do a variation on his "invention" for years. Most guitarists don't do it because it involves cutting a huge chunk out of the guitar, which could alter its tone.
His reaction was complete bullshit. "I'm too punk rock for them". No, you're too "ASSHOLE" for them. And your band of sycophants also sucked. He and the space beatle farm guy should hook up.

6. Local paper interviewed some inventors who didnt make it |
|
The general consensus was that the judges weren't looking so much at your invention as the inventor's personality and on screen appearance.
