Nah, it's not the Duke game... at least, not directly.
It's just that after a tournament loss, my Mom would usually call and console me. I'm missing my Mom tonight. :(

orphanage in the middle of the winter, barefoot, to call back. Republicans tend to get very merry and forget things when they do that.

And if it's anything like my life, you're "friends" will be calling you letting you know about the loss too. Like you didn't know or something.

Sorry you're feeling down. Just think this....McRoberts has a LOT of potential.

48. I miss my dad
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 06:49 AM by pokerfan
It's been eleven years now. The year before he died I set him up with wireless cable TV as he lived in an rural area that didn't have cable. Well, that was the year of the 1995 Mariners and yeah, while they lost the ALCS game, it was still the brightest season in club history. I would come home from from work and start watching the game and the phone always seemed to ring right after a big play. Without caller ID, I would pick up and say, "Hi Dad."

{short break for crying spell}

The funny thing was, he absolutely hated Randy Johnson, Mostly because of his hair. He hated the hair. Hated the way I used to wear it. But, eventually he came to to respect and even love RJ. He was the ugliest human being he'd ever seen but loved his pitching.

Before he died, he told me that he had had never seen anyone throw that hard. Well, I don't know about that. He was born in 1919 and was a huge baseball fan, so he may have been humoring me a bit. But maybe it was that slider. That's a pretty nasty pitch.
