Pics from Day 1 of Lawnapalooza (dial up beware)
Prepping the flower beds

Southside of walkway to kitchen door. We usually put perennials here, pansies, posies, and marigolds. Mrs. McLargehuge also keeps her potted herbs here during the spring and summer.

A little further up the walkway

Northside of the walkway. Perennials go here too.

My stone garden. I have to work on erradicating the scourge of Oriental Bittersweet from here this week. The beds contain two mock orange trees, and an expanding plot of day lillies. We plan to put some ornamental grass in here this year too.

Southeast side of house beneath living room window. This is our tulip garden. The pipe is what takes water out of our basement.

Southside of the house (Corner). Perennials here too. Last year I removed about ten square yards (it seemed) of overgrown hofsta. I left a few plants closer to the door. This is a nice spot. It's where we keep the hummingbird feeder.

Same spot, a little further right to the Dining Room door. I left the Hofsta in the corner.

Mrs. McLargehuge's Circle Garden. Ornamental grasses, perennials, and marigolds (my favorite).

One of the five apple trees (behind the garage). If you look closely you can also see the black raspberry bushes on the treeline. We have those, as well as three very productive blueberry bushes, and one peach tree. The overall yard is 3.5 acres, of which two acres is lawn, that I used to mow by hand.

More pics when we do more work, probably next weekend.

6. You have quite some acreage, Biggie....
The rhododendrons on the side of your house are gorgeous...as is the rest of the property. Please post photos through the spring, summer and fall. Now that I am moving away from a yard and into a condo, I long to see how your garden grows.

:)
