Whoever hacked the webpage is listing his "hacking" friends who will see the hack- mostly to prove to them it was him who actually did it. Somewhere on MIRC he is claiming credit and this is how he proves it to the other people in the room / his group / his clan / whatever.

Otherwise you get a form letter like "You have been hacked by Mazzter JeffK", or a stream of gibberish that means something to a handful of people. The shout-outs seem to be in the impersonal category (thanking "the little people" like the Academy Awards), if the message doesn't make sense then it probably wasn't meant for you. Political vandalism is none that subtle:

17. Yeah this idiot left a personal message but it was stupid and not

in sync with the intent or the discussion on the board. Basically a "You people spend all your time bitching about the war on your computers while our soldiers are dying". Included a british flag.

This is not a noise maker board so seems they either stumbled on it, saw it as an opportunity to strut or need to scream a political statement of their own. Very graffiti like.
