Pennant Fever In Seattle!
Yes, it's that time of year again...the populace is giddy, and it doesn't matter that it's 40 degrees in our beautiful open-air ballpark, it's PENNANT FEVER in Seattle!

The Mariners are at .500! My, oh my!

Julie
just thankful I'm not in the traffic around Safeco Field right now...

1. Let's see...
When everybody in the division is 1-1 and there're 160 games left, what's the Magic Number?

2. It's the agony of being a Mariners fan
The closest we've gotten to the World Series so far was 1995. We had a great year in 2001, but it didn't translate to the playoffs.

At this point, I'm imagining the magic number is 100. If you think good thoughts for us, I'll think good thoughts for your Dodgers! ;-)

7. Everybody starts even in April
Every club has the same number of players and plays the same number of games. Hope springs eternal.

September's the cruelest month, not April.

Thanks for the karma. I trust it'll be suspended June 20-22.

3. Maybe it's just that I'm so glad they're back
But they look a lot better this year. They're hitting, the pitching doesn't completely suck.

6. Agreed. They do look better.
Like I said to Julie, they just seem to be more "there" this year. It's nice to see that.

4. It is a beautiful day today!
I had lunch down at the Edgewater - it was gorgeous, and now we have this wonderful news that the Mariners didn't lose!:woohoo: ;)

5. We went to Opening Day and had to park 2 miles away from Safeco!
I don't mind the walk, but MrSG has some respiratory problems so the walk really took a toll on him. But we love going to Opening Day!

Even though they lost that game, I was -- and am -- impressed with what I'm seeing so far. They seem more "there" this year than they did last year.
