So a spokesperson said that he'd announce this morning, and then when reporters show up to hear his decision, he's a jerk to them. He was an asshole as a college football player (believe me, I know), and he remains one as a professional player. Fuck Farve.

TUNICA — Quarterback Brett Favre said this morning he hasn’t reached a decision on whether he’ll play football this season for the Green Bay Packers or retire from the NFL.

Although a family spokeswoman told The Associated Press on Friday that Favre would announce his decision at a news conference this morning prior to his celebrity golf tournament, Favre told a group of reporters that he’s got plenty of time to make a decision.

“I don’t know why you all wasted a trip to come down here,” Favre said, addressing the half-dozen reporters from Wisconsin. “The fact that we’re all sitting here is a joke. I don’t have a decision yet.”

Favre, 36, is a 15-year NFL veteran. He’s spent the last 14 in Green Bay and holds the NFL record for 221 consecutive starts for a quarterback.

“I know there’s an lot of anxiety about this, but we have time to make a decision,” Favre said. “There is life besides what Brett Favre is going to do. Go enjoy baseball season.”
