Question on the movie "Serenity" |
|
I finally saw the movie this week and thought it was good. I noticed several times that they seemed to drop Chinese into the end of sentences - is there any reason for that? I don't recall it being explained in the movie and I don't remember it being translated into English. However, the menu selections at the beginning of the movie spin from Chinese characters into English and I saw Chinese characters in various locations in the movie. And reason?
I did not really see any of the "Firefly" TV show.

On Earth the only 2 surviving super powers are the USA and China, so most people grow up speaking both languages.

I wonder if the US will ever really become enlightened enough where Chinese (or another language) is widely taught in the schools?
