Poll question: Best John Williams Movie Score
I wanted to include some of his TV work in this poll (e.g., Lost in Space), but I decided to just restrict it to movies. It's not like he hasn't done more than a few films.

It was kind of hard to pick the best of the best, but here are my choices. What do you think?

3. I have the 'Raiders' theme as my ringtone!!
John Williams is great.

But Danny Elfman is the best.

5. Williams' score with Itzhak Perlman on violin for Schindler's List
is by far one of the best pieces of music ever written for a film.

6. Of the ones I got
Schindler's List, it is almost like that violiin in the opening scene is crying out for justice of the 6 million plus Jews and others that were murdered by the Nazis. I like Saving Private Ryan too but Schindler's List tops it for me.

7. Nobody's ever heard of it--
--But he did a lovely score for *Jane Eyre* in 1971, with Geroge C Scott and Sisannah York...and I have to admit, that's still my favorite, after all these years...

11. I have to go with the first love.
A New Hope. Sitting in that dark theater at 5 years old, seeing the yellow letters and hearing those two high C's, then the scrolling text just blew me away. I have loved his music ever since. Some lesser known ones by him have been Empire of the Sun and Witches of Eastwick. Schindler's List was wonderful.

But, I must go with where it all began, a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. And, when we had a Dem President.

12. gotta go with A New Hope

because every composition in the soundtrack is very rememberable and can be spotted instantly after a few bars. The Medal Ceremony is one of my all time favorites. If I were to ever get married it would be to that.

14. I hate John Williams normally but he did a great job on 'My Geisha'.
Completely devoid of his usual bombast. Pleasantly surprised.
