My dog had a "growth" removed from his tongue today

His vet has sent it out for a biopsy.

Zephyr is 14 years old, and I know "growths" are normal for a dog of his age - he has one on his nose and one next to his ribcage that has been very slowly been growing over the years - his vet has told me that he doesn't normally remove such cysts from a dog of his age, but to keep an eye on it.

Anyone with any experience in this matter? I'm not freaking, but I'm concerned.

I chose not to have human children, he's my child.

Many times "tumors" are not a big deal, especially in older dogs. I'm hoping that's the case for Zephyr.
