Scary because I am a liberal, veggie, northerner, who thought grass="the country" for the 1st ten years of my life. I thought Ft. Lee, NJ was the "country" because my uncle there had a 10'x10' grass lawn. It's urban/suburban!

7. I have fond childhood memories of Stuckey's. |
|
We would stop there on the way to St. Louis. My aunt and I would make fun of the Jesus on wood clocks.

8. There's a Stuckey's between Houston and Beaumont on I-10 |
|
It's kept up really well. One of the few functioning locations left. Probably because there's really nothing else around it but grass.

9. Stuckey's used to be a staple for me and my family |
|
on vacation trips, etc. However, the area where I live now lost all of the Stuckey's stores about ten years ago. I don't know of any within a two-state radius. However, I do know that all of the ones my family frequented are now other things---most notably porn shops and motorcycle dealerships. :)

It's gone now, but the pecan log roll hasn't changed. Not. One. Bit.
