Why do the jobs gods hate me?
I'm in the running for a completely awesome job...one that I'm qualified for in reality but have no degrees or anything to back up that assertion. I have a friend who's with the company and that's the only reason I even got my foot in the door. More $$ than I've EVER been even close to making. Sweet ass benefits like taking a cab, anywhere in the world, and charging it to the company if you've been out drinking. THAT kind of company.

I had my phone interview a week or so ago. I sent the requisite "thank you for the interview" email to the hiring manager a day or so later. I just woke up to a "FAILED DELIVERY" notification in my inbox. :argh: :banghead:

1. Since you have a friend there... can you get the email address again?
Or is there any way she can find something out for you? Like when they will be making a decision, etc?

Don't stress... If not this one, another will come.

6. I talked with my friend the other night
He said she said great things about me, really liked me, etc. So hopefully this snafu won't hurt my chances too much. Still...SHIT! :grr:

2. So call the company
and ask for a new e-mail address.
Also ask if they use any spam blocking programs on their system.
We do at my place of business and sometimes people try and sent me e-mails and they get sent back.

Don't give up! :hi:

7. Thanks man..
I think I will call and double check the spam thing before I resend. She got the first email I sent to confirm the time of the interview, but still worth checking out. :hi:

15. definitely check on the spam thing!
A lot of companies are getting a lot tougher on spam filters, especially if they are from commonly used domains like @aol.com or @yahoo.com

If they rejected you, you would not have gotten "failed delivery", you would get either no response, or a form email saying "thank you for applying for the XYZ position. We have carefully evaluated your candidacy, but have decided to go in another direction. Thank you for your interest in the Acme Inc."

5. Aargh.
Maybe send a handwritten thank-you in the mail (or drop it off at the front desk)?

11. Well, it's classy if your handwriting is legible.
I don't do the handwritten note so much. I write like an 8-year-old boy.

Good luck.
