3. The good news is that one third of the respondents
had a solid knowledge of Walmart's practices and were determined to not shop there.

A few years ago, you wouldn't have seen those kind of numbers.

4. Agreed... but Americans still only look at price and not cost.
That's what is bad. Long term job loss. People working hard for minimum wage. Running other businesses out of town. We all know the evils of Wal-Mart. It is just ignorance or the "I don't want to know about it" attitude?

"It is just ignorance or the "I don't want to know about it" attitude?"

There is more to it than that. There are a lot more unemployed people who may not have that economic choice these days. Ideals are great, but your children have to have clothes and food.

Then there are a large number of people working two and three jobs who don't have time to even watch the news or to find another store to shop in.

And then there are people like those in the community I live in, where we have very little media and what we have is bad. Stories about the problems with Walmart are rare out here. And stores like Walmart willing to build and come into your area are rare. If you can get one to come in, it often charges higher prices than if there is competition, so if the competition is Walmart, no one will seek out information about Walmart, because they are percieved as the balancing act.

It isn't a matter of ignorance; it's a matter of understanding the unique situations that face people in this country and how Walmart exploits all of them. But I have faith that the revolution will happen. It is just a question of when.
