Anyone ever heard of 'Cabbage Ball' |
|
Edited on Tue May-09-06 11:07 PM by ChoralScholar
It's played just like baseball, except the ball is roughly the size of a head of cabbage. It's light enough to pitch underhand, but heavy enough to go into the outfield if it's hit hard.
I played it in elementary school... and I'd like to introduce my choir kids to it the last couple days of school.
I need to know where I can buy a cabbage ball. I'm at a loss and google is useless.
Oh, and also.. is there another name it is known by, that I can search for?

The ball is roughly the same size, and is softer than a baseball or softball. My parents used to play in a league in the 70s. The women could wear gloves, but the men could not.
Sounds like the same thing to me. :hi:

4. Perhaps you're referring to 16" softball? |
|
As far as I know, the only place it's played, is in Chicagoland.

It almost feels stuffed with something, but it is fairly heavy.

I would have said a couple of innings! Ever take one of those apart! I did when i was about 10 or 11. Big fun! There's a mile of string in there, and a bunch of stuffing like excelsior! The Professor
