7. I was tending to a cut on the leg, |
|
and was stupidly in a direct line of where the leg would go when he jerked it up.
My fault for being a dummy.

11. I keep telling my work |
|
that they need to make a stall in the parking garage. That way when gas goes back up I can ride to work.
Or maybe start a covered wagon transport system.....

And I suspect (since gas jumped to $2.959 here today) that horses may make a comeback in the transportation department.

No lasting damage, I just had to lay on the ground for a couple minutes until my ears quit ringing.

14. I have been stepped on, kicked, bitten and thrown by horses. |
|
Owned three at one time. So I have gotten my share of bumps and bruises from them.

15. I had a dislocated shoulder after a throw-off, |
|
but this is my first head-shot.
I should probably get used to such things and be more careful.

20. Once when I was thrown off, I landed on my shoulder. |
|
Fortunately, nothing was broken or dislocated, but I had to wear a sling for a couple of weeks.

17. They are large critters |
|
And can do a lot of damage. I've been riding since I was about 8 - been thrown, been stepped on, been bitten, been kicked, been bashed up against the barn wall and on one memorable occasion, had my back broken.
Keep getting back on, though. It's an addiction. ~sigh~
Hope your head feels better soon. :hi:

23. I've been bucked off, run away with, charged and narrowly missed |
|
being kicked in the face.
It all caught up with me, and I finally lost my nerve after being obsessed with horses for many years.
That fright/flight instinct in them is powerful and they can do some real damage to humans without meaning to.

24. Yep, a 1000 pound prey animal, |
|
their nervous system acts before they can think about it.
I'm sure it is not the last time I end up on the ground with "bees in my head".
