Poll question: DU Hetero Fellas, do you ask women out?
I wonder, do you? Do you do it more often than you're asked out? I know that's the case for me when I am single... consistently.

4. It's more of a financial agreement.
So I guess I'd say "No" to asking, and "Yes" to patronizing.

13. Dude, _______ gets super-jealous.
If I smile at the waitress, she starts frothing at the mouth. I can't even talk about girls I knew in high school without her getting huffy-puffy.

10. It's very rare for a woman to ask a guy out.
It's always very welcomed, but rare nonetheless.

"DU Hetero Fellas, if a woman asked you out would you even realise she had?" x(

Edited on Wed May-10-06 12:23 PM by billyskank
One week before the end of university, before we all dispersed home for the last time, a girl who I had fancied for a year or more totally told me to call her!

Trouble was I was too fucking drunk to get what had just happened!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

One week later she asked me in a hurt tone of voice, so I thought you were going to call me?

I deserved shooting. x(

I am such a dunderhead. :dunce:

12. I'm usually the "askee"
I have always had a hard time approaching women I'm attracted to. Mostly because of fear of rejection.

15. I've had women drop -obscenely- unsubtle hints in my direction
But as far as the "let's get together for drinks/dinner/coffee," that part seems to always be up to me.

20. I've never been asked out by a woman.
and I don't know any man in my acquaintance that has.

(back in my single days, of course, and I was single for a longgggg time.)

I think it is very rare.

28. are you sure?
A lot of guys don't notice when women are throwing themselves at them. I know I've had to point out to some of my male friends that girls were hitting on them. As a gender you can sometimes be clueless

30. This is a different thing altogether
I know when a woman expresses real interest in me, and that has certainly happened, sometimes inappropriately. I can read all those signals quite well. The woman shows interest, the man makes the move if he is also interested. The usual pattern.

But I NEVER have been asked out on a date by a woman. Quite a different thing.

33. i'm not sure I believe you
I've definately had to explain to male friends that if she asked you to come along with her to an event that it counts as a date. It's not always a cut and dried "would you like to go out for drinks on friday night?" kind of thing

21. In the (increasingly rare, it seems) event I get to know a woman I like,
it usually turns out she already has a boyfriend or she "just wants to be friends." x(

Last time I was the askee and we all know how well that turned out. :eyes:

22. When I was single,
I got asked out by women much more often than I did the asking. I suspect it was because of two main reasons: I'm a bit shy with women, and I was in a band.

23. I always asked guys out
I guess I was kinda forward for my day. ALthough it is funny how a lot of guys don't seem to get the cues that females want them to ask us out. Weird.

(aren't you glad I have an opinion in all these guy polls?) ;)

29. I never ask women out.
Especially not now. But, in the past, I always got to know a female as a friend before suggesting dating. Usually by that stage, you're both flirting shamelessly anyway, and you know each other's situation and how available they are. I was never into wasting time with someone I had little in common with (both my time and hers).

31. Nope, and that seems to be the whole problem
at some point, as I get to know them better, they classify me as a "safe male friend who would never try anything" before I would know them nearly well enough to make a move. :eyes:

34. Nein.
I just don't have much faith in humanity anymore. Since women are part of humanity, well, you get the picture. All my relationships, and those of my family and friends, are gigantic suck-holes of hurt feelings, neuroticism and wasted time.

Besides, the absolute, dead-last, loser-by-a-mile woman I would ever want to date would be one desperate enough to date me.
