Just had three of my dogs shaved- WOW!
The other dogs didn't recognize them at first. There was a little bit of growling but after a few sniffs of the butt, all was well.
This is PeeDee before and after. It was hard to get pictures because all three were running around trying out their new look. They seem very happy, I bet when we get our usual 95 degree and humid summer weather they will really enjoy.

PeeDee before.

After.

3. I am in southern middle Tennessee.
About 35 miles from the Alabama state line. Right now its cold and rainy (61 degrees), come July and August it will get quite "sultry".

2. We shave one of our dogs, a Lab mix, for the summer because
she's miserable in the summer heat. She looks like a skinny rat when she's first shaved. :) My husband does it himself, and it's not a professional job but it looks pretty good. She usually loses about 5 lbs. of hair (exaggerating, but it's a LOT!) in the process. She always feels great when we do that! :) (Our other dog is naturally short-haired, so she's fine in the summer but cold in the winter.)

Your doggies are a bunch of sweeties! :) I'm glad they realized it was just the regular pack, only without hair! :D

I had a dog in the late 80s who loved my sister dearly. She came to my place one time with a new perm (her hair is naturally board-straight), and my dog growled and snarled and yapped like she usually did with strangers. It took about ten minutes for her to realize that it was just my sis, only with different hair.

4. sooo cute!
isn't it funny when they don't recognize each other when they come back from the groomer -- well the ones who stayed home don't.

5. My groomer has a trailer- does it in my front yard.
She charges a little bit more but to me its worth it. She does a lot of "farm dogs" so she is used to the ticks. Mine have a couple of hundred acres they patrol so they get pretty dirty. She also has 14 rescue dogs on her farm so I would rather support her than other groomers.

6. Wow, 14 rescued dogs! I'd support her too. Good on her!
There is a special place for souls like that. She will have quite the welcome when time comes.

11. Why? Because they are uncomfortable in hot weather.
Imagine wearing a heavy winter coat during the dog days of summer! Also, it is easier for me to spot and remove ticks before they dig in.
