I hate my job and want it to die.

Yet another work-related rant.

Today I was slogging through the drudgery as usual when a co-worker I was never really fond of informed me she was working overtime this week.

That struck me as strange, since a company e-mail from last Friday said that overtime was no longer available (due to our seasonal work schedule). Normally, we schedule our overtime hours week by week, but my co-worker told me that she had scheduled her overtime up through this week back in February.

Of course, I gave her a WTF expression, since she scheduled her overtime in a way that was not available to the rest of us. Add that to the fact that she was working overtime in a week that we weren't supposed to, I became angry.

Apparently, she had coordinated it with one of our supervisors, the same supervisor who gives her a free pass for everything because they're friends.

My co-worker gets to work on the same show (I work in the entertainment industry, so to speak) every day, which happens to be her favorite show, while the rest of us get stuck with the crappy shows most of the time. The same supervisor probably arranged that one show for her to work on as well.

There are many problems I have with this person, including her lack of an "indoor voice," (she sounds like a pig run through a synthesizer) her constant complaining of working on a show that she actually likes, her never turning in her work orders even though we are required to and her overall sense of smugness.

Fortunately, I'll be leaving this job (and city) in less than two months, so I won't have to deal with this shit again.

Anyway, just had to vent.

If she's smug about it, this only adds insult to injury. But if you're getting out of there, you have the upper hand. Focus on the future and don't let this self-important loser get under your skin. You're moving on and she's not. And feel free to vent, anytime...:-)
