My Jones Soda bottle is trying to cheer me up.
It sez: "There is new hope for projects you had almost given up on."

This is confusing for two reasons:
1. I can't think of any projects I've *almost* given up on. I can think of some I've given up on *completely* and some I haven't given up on at all, but no almosts. So...what does that mean?
2. The use of the pluperfect tense "had given" instead of the present perfect tense "have given." Bastids. :grr:

3. Not to mention
the split verb. Watch where you place your adverbs.

7. They should just rewrite that clause
and get rid of the ending preposition.

9. It's delicious.
Almost a cream soda kind of taste, but noticably bubble gum flavoured.

10. you said pluperfect tense -
cool. I haven't heard anyone reference that in ages. For that, you deserve a  for grammar awareness!

as for the soda, that's what you get for taking your philosophical direction from soda bottles. I'd stick with fortune cookies, myself. ;)
