I want to rent a DVD tonight. Any suggestions?
I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, but here's what I don't want:

1) Horror.
2) Chick flick.
3) Porn.

Any suggestions?

2. We're going to watch
The Time of Your Life tonight the dvd just came today. It's an old James Cagney movie about interesting characters hanging out in a San Francisco dive. I doubt you could get it at a rental store though.

6. I picked that one up last week.
I haven't had the chance to see it yet though - the few stills I have seen and the preview were fascinating!

I loved Dave McKean's Sandman covers.

7. Reversal of Fortune. It's one of my top 5.
Jeremy Irons & Glenn Close are great in this. So's Ron Silver, even if he's a repub. It's about the trials of Klaus von Bulow, and it's GREAT. Double Indemnity is a classic. Memento & Fight Club are good, also. And Erin Brockovich. :)

21. I saw an excellent movie last weekend that I just loved.
Everything Is Illuminated starring Elijah Wood. It's kind of a quirky movie about a young Jewish guy who travels to the Ukraine to search for the woman who helped his grandfather escape before WWII, saving his life. The characters were all memorable and I especially loved the dog, LOL! And though the story was extremely affecting, there were some very funny parts. I think you'd like it.:-)

26. I don't know you personally, but
I'd recommend the Martin Scorsese film, "Kundun," to almost anyone. It's the story of the early years of the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. It's beautifully filmed and quite political. If you can't rent it this weekend, I hope you can pencil it in for a future weekend. Call Me Wesley and I loved it so much that we bought the DVD.

33. A few of my recent satisfactory viewings
Casanova - a nice period piece. Not great, but not bad. It's entertaining.
Little Fish - Aussie flick with Cate Blanchett as a former druggie trying to get her own business going.
Mrs. Henderson Presents - Rich widow's hobby of staging girlie shows during the war.
The Edukators - German flick about three mates who creep rich bastards' homes, only to kidnap one.
Der Tunnel - Another German flick about tunneling beneath the Berlin Wall to escape to the west.

And no, I don't hate all guys who have facial hair. Chaplin was a brilliant man.;)

It's just that I think that Everything Is Illuminated is more worth seeing, definitely leaves you with a much better feeling about people and life.:-)

And the dog was priceless!
