As a Texan who also happens to be a liberal (read so far to the left to be an admitted communist) I take EXTREME exception to the generalization about all Texans based on the behavior of a few.
One more time (all together now) SHRUB IS NOT FROM TEXAS...he's a Yankee carpetbagger. :eyes:

I just get a little tired of hearing my state drug through the mud because of that...that...that...*can't think of a word bad enough to call him*
Ok, end of whining. I didn't realize the comment came from someone on tv - I don't watch much.

you can hear your state drug through the mud, and disagree with it. Most of the time when people say Arkansas has a shitty education system, don't know how to drive in snow and ice, and produced Bill Clinton, I have to say 'well, I guess you're right' :)
I love Arkansas, I really do, don't get me wrong.

I saw a post in a forum once about Shrub and some woman said "Being from Texas, I obviously support the President". I didn't know how to respond. What do you say to people like that?

called beef over some weed called mesquite. Their sauce is too sweet. NOT BBQ.
Archibald's in Northport and Cottondale, AL Ribs and Pork. George and Betty Archibald are serving it to God in heaven everyday now, or it couldn't be heaven.

Haven't been there in a couple years, but it was good old gorge-until-you-can't-move bbq.
Beef and tomato sauce is beef and tomato sauce. Only pork is bbq. Only a philistine would suggest otherwise.

I have NEVER even owned a gas grill. In fact, I never grill. I load up my water smoker pan with tile, forget the water, use wood chips over hardwood charcoal. I'd have a real pit if I could afford it.

Ya bunch of Jethro Bodeeeens eating roadkill that's gone rotten and covering the taste with sauce and smoke.
And BBQ in the North... Yeah, right. I've eaten northern food... try adding some flavor now and then. We grow northern BBQ down here, but we make cloth out of it and call it cotton.
And the state of Ralph Yarborough, Ann Richards, Molly Ivins, John Henry Faulk, Henry B Gonzales and Janis Joplin has nothing to apologize to the rest of the nation for. Well, except for Bush, but he was elected by the newcomers, not real Texans.

Deep fry it or B-B-Q it. If it can't be deep fried or b-b-q'ed, it just ain't worth eating.
