1. I have heard that these lyrics are about Don Jaun Matus |
|
Edited on Tue May-16-06 09:49 PM by amerikat
They say there's a place down in Mexico
Where a man can fly over mountains and hills
And he don't need an airplane or some kind of engine
And he never will
Now you know it's a meaningless question
To ask if those stories are right
'Cause what matters most if the feeling
You get when you're hypnotized

The ex had experienced similar experiences to Castenada with her tribal Shaman. She presented the books to me as real, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them.

I think they are made up out of whole cloth though - even the drug experience. He just found his writing niche and was very good at it.

Although there are pieces, here and there, of a very interesting cosmology, if you can sift through stuff like shooting arrows at imaginary enemies come to devour you. The Dark Ocean of Awareness is an awesome bit.

31. My boyfriend and I were really into Castenada books back in the |
|
70s.
It's funny you mention it because I had to keep a journal for my Religion class this semester and I was just thinking of a time when I was trying to travel in my sleep and had a OOBE. I didn't actually travel, just floated in the corner of my room but I definitely believe(d) it was possible. And no, I was not doing drugs.
