Putting the Mental in Fundamentalist (My DaVinci code experience)
Edited on Fri May-19-06 08:51 PM by Sannum
I went to my local AMC this afternoon to get a ticket for tomorrow, and the fucking chaos that was around there was just astonishing. Cops, Christians from every denomination from baptist to catholic as well as assorted anti-choice protesters and even the occasional anti-gay activist. The cops were there as well as theater security trying to keep the patrons safe as well as pedestrians considering the theater is on a major street. They were screaming at everyone walking by, telling them they were going to hell...everyone who entered the damn place.

These people are fucking nuts.

I am going back for the 11:00 tonight. It was all I could get.

1. Maybe I'll wait til it comes out on DVD.
Sounds just like the crazy BS that happened years ago when "The Last Temptation of Christ" came out. Fundy nutjobs were picketing that, too. So here's what I can't figure out: If these "Christians" are so devout and so utterly convinced of the correctness of their theology, why do they feel so threatened by a potboiler murder mystery flick? Is their faith so fragile? Are God and Jesus going to shrivel up and blow away because of a movie? Seems like these loons' religious belief is kind of like Peter Pan, where Tinker Bell nearly dies because not enough people believe in fairies. Feh. Pretty lame excuse for "faith" if you ask me.
