Well, I did not get my full license back today....
But I can still drive anywhere I want, so it's all cool.

I still have to have a conditional license--the condition being that I have to have high risk insurance for three years before I get the full license. That's no biggie. I've got that covered.

I can now drive anywhere I want though...as long as I have the insurance. So it's still a Vroom, Vroom Day!

Get this:

I walk in the DMV and say, "I'm here to get my full license restored." Lady behind the counter says, "Not for another three years."

My jaw hit the ground and I almost started to cry. The woman was a complete idiot when it came to explaining the situation to me.

But as long as I can still drive, it's all cool!

VROOM VROOM!

(Too bad I can't go driving until later today. I'm on the clock for Truthout until 6 pm :-( )

Glad you can drive again - sorry to have to have high risk insurance, though. Cripes, you'd think after ten years of perfect driving record they'd give you the good driver rate. :-)

So good to hear you are mobile again!

What's gonna be your first drive?

VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!

3. Well, at least you can drive.
Someone needs to give the DMV person a lesson on how to tell people things. Sheesh!

:-)

8. It's more likely that I'll fly down there sometime
Now that I work for Truthout, I can't take off like I was planning on doing earlier. About the only time I have free is the weekends, and driving to Tx would take too long.

It's looking likely that mom and me will be moving to Vegas in a year or two, so eventually I'll be much closer.

11. Most of the people I know that work in customer service...
Or places where you have to work directly with people can't do it to save their soul. They have no people skills and couldn't explain their way out of a paper bag, let alone explain something important to people. I encounter this every time I have to go get some weird shot at the local health department. I'll get frustrated because of how dumb and rude these people are, and they think I'm getting hostile, and ask if I'd like someone else to wait on them. Oh, and get this, they had one fundie chick working for them and she was telling people how bad their premarital sex and having babies out of wedlock was. She told them they were going to hell and that their children were never going to amount to anything because their parents sure hadn't. Well, she didn't get fired. Oh no. She got a job in a bigger county as a SOCIAL WORKER!! What the hell is this world coming to?

you've achieved your goal! Yay!!! :D

The H-R insurances sucks but at least that's only three years. Not as far away as you've been without a license thusfar.

edit: Be cautious. Remember the driving landscape looks very different at night than during the day.

Good job getting it back!

I'd would have moved out of the state if I ever got my license denied for more than 6 months.

But, congrats and have fun!

16. DMVs are the same all over. Being nasty and unhelpful are required skills
for the employees. Sorry about the conditional return of your license, keph...

That said, be sure to "aggravate the gravel" later on!

22. A Driver's License Is Tied To To Insurance In Indiana?
In Kentucky, the license is restricted to physical problems. The vehicle license is tied to insurance.

24. Congrats!!!! Now, remember: it's feather foot, not lead-foot...
Although I doubt anyone has anything to worry about with you at the wheel now.

I only wish I could say the same for my fellow cellphone-addicted, narcissistic, humongous SUV-driving, agressive Denver drivers....
