Bush against Babes
Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 01:43 PM by Lucille
Fox, Newsmax, the NY Post and Sean Hannity have given coverage to this website, which purports to sell an anti-bush message--together with some pin-ups--in order to market a calendar. I'm sure nobody would have ever heard of it had they not received publicity from these sources who are supposedly so outraged by the site's anti-bush content.

The "reporters" are shocked, shocked--not to mention morally offended--to learn that bimbos (Newsmax's word) hate Bush and--get this--want Bill Clinton back.

The site looks totally fake to me. The calendar's alleged creator, David Livingstone, went on Hannity and Colmes and defend his calendar in an exchange w/Hannity that can charitably be described as phoney and scripted as Colmes' liberalism. A total set-up.

I know that this type of sleeze is nothing new, but this has got to be a pretty blatant attempt of the rw to invent "news," create a controversty over it, and then comment on it, using the commentary to frame a bigger issue--in this case opposition to our "popular" president. I guess as the election gets closer, it's going to get worse.

6. It's legitimate. They are based out of Royal Oak Michigan. One
lives next door to my husband's cousin and has been mega active in anti war protesting. Their reasons for hating Bush need to be updated. My husband is begging for one to "help the Democratic Cause" :eyes:

3. I think it's legitimate
I found this about the site's owners, OrwellMedia.com

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2003/3/prweb59498.htm

Punk-rock recording artists Piggi have recorded a new version of the 1970s pop hit "Tie A Yellow Ribbon," in support of www.f*ckthewar.com's "DUCT TAPE ACROSS AMERICA" peace campaign.

Entitled "Tie A Strip Of Duct Tape ('round the old oak tree)," the song is a sardonic reply to "yellow ribbon" campaigns in support of military action.

"Duct Tape Across America" is a campaign urging anti-war activists to prominently place strips of duct tape in public places to visibly highlight the absurdity of the Bush administration's ineffectual recommendations for "homeland security."

Piggi are a group based in Detroit, Michigan. The band has granted permission for unrestricted reproduction of the song's lyrics. The band can be reached for interviews and comment via their publicity agency, OrwellMedia, at david@orwellmedia.com.

I think that it would be pretty elaborate to set up a label, start a band, record a song against the war, and create a Media Company just to bilk a few perverts out of 11 dollars for a calendar that will barely make a blip on the Faux News radar screen.

7. how do I get that kind of publicity?
Geez, this guy gets on Fox News hawking some cheesy calendar? I made an entire feature film which mocks republicans and takes shots at Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft and the corporate media and it hasn't managed to find its way to Bill O'Reilly yet. How do you get something onto their radar screen? I need some good right wing outrage to get people interested in my film.

11. Scantily-clad young women often help
particularly if they're osculating one another...that always attracts the bottom feeders at Faux.

12. I have that!
Oh yeah, I have one scantilly clad blonde and a brunette dominatrix in there. That ought to set off some alarms.
