Interview Question: Tell me about a time when... |
|
You experienced something rather stressful. What happened? How did you handle it?
My answer: When I first got to college, all students taking lab classes were required to take a lab safety orientation. Part of the orientation was putting out fires with a fire extinguisher. When it was my turn to put out the fire, the wind blew hard and the fire got large. This made me very nervous. Then I dropped the fire extinguisher and ran away screaming.
That's not how I would really answer this question, but I thought of it while reviewing for interview questions that might be asked and started laughing. What kind of things do they expect people to say when they ask questions like that? I wonder if they have had anyone answer like that. I am interviewing tomarrow with a relatively small business with the owner. I am really hoping that they don't ask questions like that.

1. I just tell them that I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher for five years. |

They get the idea that I handle stress well.
