I want to redecorate my room

Now that I'm out of school and not moving out of my dad's house in the foreseeable future, I think it is time to do a little redecorating. I've pretty much convinced my father to buy me a new mattress (the one I've got now is damn near 20 years old) and some new window treatments (they were left over from the previous residents...two 8 year old girls...they're falling apart and have a fairy princess vibe to them) not to mention he's been promising me new blinds since 1998! The biggest challenge however, is to figure out what I want on my walls...not much has changed on them since I put the stuff up 8 years ago...when I was a freshman in high school. I'm just tired of the crap that is up there and want to give my room a more "mature" look if that is at all possible with a person like me :P

Right now I have two Kennedy pictures that I want to hang but I need to go out and buy frames for, other than that I've got nothing. I guess since they are both black and white photos, maybe I could go with a B&W type of theme. I also love 60's political and musical artwork so thats another direction I could go. All I know is that I can't look at these 4 walls the way they are much longer.

On a side note...I find it funny that as I've been talking to all my friends (from HS and college) they've been telling me about the things they've been doing to their bedrooms at home as well. One person is getting new carpeting, another a new bed...etc...I guess none of them plan to move out anytime soon either...lol
