I cannot find that Steve Martin "song". I think it starts with Steve Martin arguing with somebody (Chevy Chase?) about the words. Something like "boof is the final word for everyone" but was the word "boof" or something else - google could not tell me, unless I am misremembering part of it. I always sang it as "ooops" is the final word for everyone, since the bottom line of many situations has somebody saying "oops" and everyone does finally have an instance where they are the one holding the bag.
