I don't know what it's like now, but years ago its salient feature to me was that it was (a) a grandstanding and marketing opportunity for the Gracie boys and (b) -- most important to me -- showed so-called martial artists behaving in a manner totally inconsistent with the values espoused by traditional martial arts (a very American twist...ego and beliggerence run rampant with zero humility on display). The whole thing disgusted me, I didn't give a f*** how technically good or strong any of the fighters were (fighters, not martial artists), and I've not bothered with it since. I'd rather watch pro wrestling, even...
