Don't look for an active June for the tropics this year
This should be a little sigh of relief for those of you who went through hell last year. This June will not be on par with last June or June 1968 where 3 storms formed in the gulf. If you remember last year, tropical storm Arlene formed on June 8th, and slammed in Alabama, just shy of hurricane strength, and Tropical storm Bret formed on June 28th, and hit Mexico the next day, barely as a storm. Upper level winds will not be condusive for storm development in the foreseeable future, (10 days out). Maybe a storm might form near the end of the month, but that would be about it.

Dr. Gray has made no changes to his forecast. 17 storms, 9 hurricanes, 5 majors. He updates his findings in August.
