My cubemate has been listening to the same baseball game since 2003
And they're still only at the top of the second.

Here's a factoid for you: no baseball game in history has taken less than 173 hours to play. Not one.

4. Trust me--if you knew his work habits
you'd say that he played every second of every day.

But the game's been going on non-stop since that time. Well, not non-stop exactly, because it's been mostly stop. And a lot of "he checks the signal. Waits for another one. And another one. Hold on, Smith is going to the mound." etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum.

3. Well, sometimes the commercials are funny
Other than that, not so much.

5. Another factoid:
A game between Pittsburgh and St. Louis that began at 2 p.m. Aug. 13, 1937 is still going on, even though most of the players have died.

They're in the top of the 521,318th and it's tied 1-1.

8. They resurrected and un-retired Honus Wagner
He came in at the bottom of the 471,201st, and he's been going strong ever since. What a trooper!

6. And yet...even if true...it would still be more exciting...
Than a soccer match...

Talk about dull...up and down the middle of a big green field...

And what kind of sport has 0-0 ties on a regular basis?!!

Ugh!!!

10. Baseball on the radio sucks. Only golf on the radio is worse.

And baseball in person isn't so damn fun these days either.

12. Headphones aren't permitted in our workplace
But on the bright side, they're finally gotten to the bottom of the 2nd!

13. Headphones are
part of our dress code. I can listen to the Chick's new CD (at least I can when I go out and buy it), a ball game, even Insanity or Limpballs if I want to x(
I can hear the phone or anyone that comes up to speak to me, so I'm not totally out of communication. Certainly makes the day go faster!
