Poll question: Heart vs. Abba
Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 03:18 PM by redqueen
Well?

for the purposes of this poll, we're talking about early Heart, not 80's or later Heart...

3. ewwww
not a fan of their 80's work

but I heard Barracuda the other day and was thinking how much better it is than Dancing Queen, which some SUV-drivin lady was blasting at the 7-11 as if it were something other people might not mind hearing...

5. Which Heart?
Circle late 70's groovy classic rock Heart
or mid-80s-90's hairband Heart

There is a difference

6. I love Barracuda, Magic Man and Crazy on You. But it kinda ends there for
me in terms of heart. I love many, many Abba songs. A lot more than three.

18. Exactomundo!
Although when I went to the disco to dance, Abba was cool. Just more of a R & R fan and saw them in concert when Dog & Butterfly came out.

Tribute John Bonham on "Lonely Times" awesome too.

25. Heart absolutely...
"These Dreams" and "Dog & Butterfly"
two of my favorites.

The sweetest song is silence
That I've never heard
Funny how your feet
In dreams never touch the earth
In a wood full of princes
Freedom is a kiss
But the prince hides his face
From dreams in the mist

14. I saw Heart and Kansas togethor in Concert
I'd say about 1983 or 1984. With Heart, the better looking one was the dark haired sister. Sorry I don't remember names. To be honest, I don't remember much of the whole thing. It was the 80's....

Saw them at an outdoor fest in Atlanta on the second album tour. "Barracuda was the first song. They were amazing.
Dog and Butterfly album good.

After that, well...the 80's cheesed up a lot of folks...

33. Ann and Nancy Wilson.
I have been listening to Ann's version of "Unchained Melody" live, she takes her four octaves and tears it UP! Definitely my favorite version of that song...

Tell me: was ABBA bad rock or good disco? I never figured that out. Either way, they were a lot of schmaltz.

32. Abba won Eurovision. Enough said.
Plus they cheated, they sang in English. IIRC after Abba won, they changed the rules so that you had to sing in the country's national language. I think they changed the rules back some time ago - thanks to the EU and borders opening up.

Mark.
