What's your #1 comfort food?
I was all set to introduce you pagans to the wonders of Castleberry's barbecue beef (heaven in a can), but after eating more than half a can last night I was up all night keyed up beyond all belief, and have had a vicious headache all day. It's just possible that geting more than half your RDA of sodium in one sitting isn't the best idea. So I'll have to revert to fried chicken. And you?

(I'd do a poll, but everybody knows macaroni and cheese would win it. Don't we?)

20. Really good fettucine alfredo
The real kind, with fresh grated parmesan (none of that shit in a green can) and all the fattening butter and cream. I can't justify eating it frequently because it's like heart attack on a plate, but that is the ultimate comfort food for me.

Close second is french toast with sweetened condensed milk on top. Sounds weird but is actually really good.

48. ray-gun liked jelly beans. I like Jelly Bellies.
Jelly Bellies are a higher class kinda jelly bean. Far too sophisticated for a "man of the people." :eyes: Jelly Bellies are what separate the "elitists" from the "real Amurikins," who favor jelly beans.

:)

50. Now you've done it; you've made me go to the Reagan Foundation site
http://www.reaganfoundation.org/store/products.asp?subcat_id=20
It was jelly bellies. Nobody'd heard of the fucking things until Reagan started waxing rhapsodic about them. Started a craze, briefly. Perfect for a completely manufactured man of the people. (No reflection on you of course; just on Reagan and his puppeteers.)

Always works for me. Makes ya maudlin AND comforts at the same time.

You can get Chili's for take-out, or hit the local taqueria for the real stuff. Or make your own with a bunch of stuff off the shelf plus guacamole from the deli and sour cream from the dairy section (vegetarian here so it's easy to create in the micro without having to cook any meat beforehand).
