She's driving down with (him? her?) tomorrow. It is from her landlord - a little 8 week old orange kitten.
Usually I'd go with the humane society, but this one is sort of falling in my lap.

Is this similar to most calicos being female?
My last orange kitty was a male, but I didn't realize that was nearly a given.

I could be wrong though. Every orangie I have ever met has been a male.

24. Orange females aren't as rare as male calicos |
|
Orange female cats are less common than orange males, but they're not as rare as you'd imagine.
Calico moms and orange dads do produce more than just a few orange little girl kitties.

26. I've had two orangies, both female. |
|
They are much more rare, because the orange hair gene is more closely linked to the Y chromosome.

10. You might want to post a thread on DU asking if someone in your |
|
area is interested ... You never know. Some pets have found homes that way.
Good luck!

We have a litter that was born under my daughter's playhouse in the backyard. They are very gentle and we plan on catching them in a few more weeks and finding homes for them.

22. What the hell is it with cats |
|
I've had dogs my whole life. You go GET a dog. You buy one, you go to the pound and adopt one - you make a decision to get a dog.
But cats - "they find you". I always thought that was pretensious "cat person" drivel, like "dogs have owners, cats have staff"
But we found out that cats do indeed "find you" (or they're "dumped in your lap") - people just show up at your door with your next cat.
And yes, we ARE her staff. ("stupid pink monkeys - I don't remember giving you the night off! why are you late serving my dinner!")
