DC DUers -- what's happening this weekend in DC? Exhibits? |
|
Yes, I know how to use the web, but some insider info would be appeciated.
I'm coming down to Bethesda to work and dragging SO along, we're looking for:
Something fun to do on Sunday afternoon Something for HIM to do on Monday.
We've been to DC a lot - LOVE the Spy Museum, love Old Town Alexandria, and come down for specific exhibits at the Nat'l Gallery or the Corchoran.
Anything cool going on?

If you are willing to go outside of town a bit, there are some really interesting places to see in the area that not alot of tourists make it to.
George Mason's home Gunston Hall is fairly near Mount Vernon. They have done a great job preserving it and have a very good museum attached.
Ashlawn is also nearby which is the house given to Washington granddaughter...also very well preserved. On the same property is a Frank Lloyd Wright home that you can tour.
Bull Run Battlefield is about 30 minutes outside of town and well worth a visit.

2. Thanks! Loved Bull Run |

especially when you think that tourists came and watched the first battle, packing picnics!
Will have to look into the other sites.
