Trekkies get a chance to own a piece of the show
Edited on Wed Jun-07-06 07:09 AM by Cannikin

Starship Enterprise-A Model
Featured in the 1991 movie Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, as well as some earlier films, this model of the Starship Enterprise-A was used for visual effects purposes.

Estimate: $15,000-$25,000

After 40 years as one of the biggest franchises in television and movie history, CBS Paramount Television is opening its archives to the public and letting "Star Trek" fans own a piece of the cult favorite.

On Oct. 5-7, Christie's will auction props, costumes, and set designs from "Star Trek"'s 6 TV series and 10 feature films.

Three-quarters of the collection has been selected, but Christie's is working with CBS to include items that "will appeal to the widest fan base" and make sure every generation of "Star Trek" fans are represented, says Cathy Elkies, director of special collections at Christie's.

The collection to be auctioned will be touring various cities around the globe, starting in Fulda, Germany, and moving on to San Diego, London, Seattle, and Las Vegas before finally landing in New York City.

1. There was an auction from TOS a few years back
Edited on Wed Jun-07-06 07:51 AM by kay1864
Yeoman's uniform, props, lots of scripts.
Kirk's original captain's chair went for $265,000 :wow:

Edit: Oops, I remembered the final price wrong. 265K not 345. Hey, it was in 2002.

Amazingly, almost no archive of this remarkable auction. Uniform boots going for thousand$, as did a TOS communicator (a replica, but I don't think the buyer realized that :eyes:)

All I could find was this: http://www.strafe.com/art/chair I thought Trekkies archived everything.
