Talk about a stupid pet trick! |
|
I took our dog, a miniature schnauzer, for a walk today at a river/wetland trail. She was very well-behaved and even stood by with interest as a fed the ducks, not barking or shooing them away. At that momemnt, I was thinking I had one of the best dogs.
Then, a few minutes later, we we standing on a raised observation deck overlooking a marshy area, more water than algae but lots of it. She starts peering over the edge and just as I thought to myself, "She's not silly enough to jump in" I watch her do it.
She immediately reqrets doing it and looks up at me like, "Get me the hell out of her." I'm trying, but it's a nice size gap between her in the water and the dock. Then she starts to swim *under* the dock. Panic sets in, but she still had her leash on and so I jerked it and was somehow able to grab her legs and get her up without dislocating them.
She is covered in green slime and dripping wet.I was happy she was safe, but then she has to get in my car.
I hosed her off when we got home and she's out there until I can give her a proper bath.
So, what kind of mischief has your pet gotten in?

When he was in his "teenage years" that time in late puppyhood when dogs chew everything but their toys, and get into whatever mess they can find, I came home one day to find that he had chewed his way *through* my couch. Not on it, not just a hole in it, but had gone straight down the middle and chewed through the couch and it was now in two pieces.
Well, I soon corrected his behaviour(he hated being banished) and after that he was one of the best dogs I've ever had in my life. Smart, gentle and loving, he was a wonderful dog, and I still miss him greatly.
