Ack! Helpsies usssss...
Nasssty humansssess givesss usss the sicksiesss!

Nasssty nasssty nassty! We'sss feel like crapsiesss...

Uggh..

Any DUers have some super-anti-cold/flu method?

This crap needs to be over with by the 1st of the year or it's gonna be a miserable bus trip.

On the same note though.. any help on how to detoxify my system in general? I want to clean out any.. uh.. impurities. ;-) And toxins in general. I kinda wanna change my whole life when I go out to Seattle, so that no doubt means not eating garbage (not literally) anymore.

So, since I feel like a lump of clay anyway... feel free to mold me. :P

For now though I am off to work. I look forward to lots of fantastic advice when I get home though.

Thanks in advance everyone. :yourock:

I won't hug you to keep you from giving you the sicksiessss too. :P

1. Tea, especially green tea has anti-oxident effects
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 11:17 AM by demnan
I used it to detoxify my system after quitting drinking. I'm now throughly addicted to tea. Green tea usually has a lower level of caffine than black tea.

Here's a site to give you info and has a good variety of teas:
http://www.stashtea.com/health.htm

Here's a really good green tea that is mixed with berries for enhanced flavor.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

Some people report that they go #2 a lot after drinking green tea, further testifying to it's detoxifying effects.

On edit: I had the bad flu crap a few weeks ago and although I was really sick with it, I didn't have any secondary infections (I took no antibotics) like a lot of people I know. I was too sick to fuss with infusioning whole leaf tea so I drank a lot of Red Rose tea (from bags) with lemon slices.

Since I have begun drinking a lot of tea I have lost weight and feel much better (probably because I gave up drinking alcohol). Although I also drink decaffinated and herbal teas so I don't get too much caffine.

2. Apple cider, or a tablespoon of cider vinegar mixed with tablespoon of
honey in a glass of water...good detoxification; said to be a weight loss aid as well if taken before meals (the vinegar/honey thing; the cider is just good for cleaning our your system. Cranberry juice is good as well; promotes bladder/urinary tract health.)

3. Try to think of it as a ritual
rather than any kind of medical detoxification. I suggest hitting the local gym for a steam. Tea's good, as is everything upthread.

Just avoid the pills and potions, and you'll be fine. :toast:

4. Thanks guys!
I actually stopped and got green tea on the way to work this morning. :D

Someone had told me about its detox powers the night before.

I drank an Arizona Iced tea (Rx Health) and an (Rx Energy); also had a spicy V8 for good measure.

That kept me rockin all day; til about 4 when I got hit with the chills and feel sooooo cold. I hates fevers. The trippy dreams rock though.

For now I am burrowing under all my blankets and taking a wee shot of whiskey (purely medicinal :P); then it's off to slumber land.

As an added note: I was feeling so froggy at work I did a pretty long exercise regimen (since the job itself bores me to tears and requires no real actual work - don't get jealous, it doesn't give real actual pay either. :P); does exercise while ill have a positive or negative impact? I would assume negative to a certain degree, since I am wasting energy, on the other hand, it should help me sweat out the illness.

This job is going to be good; it should aid in the move...

Anyway.. if ya'll god more advice, please lemme know. (On detox and also some menu changes would be good - I do eat poorly.) I won't reply though as I am going to dream land...

Heres hopin for some more good advice. :)
