GONNA MISS YA "KINGFISH"!!
TIM SALMON PLAYED HIS ENTIRE CARRER WITH THE ANGELS

SALMON ANNOUNCED THIS WAS HIS LAST YEAR IN BASEBALL.
Timmy is four home runs away from 300 Career Home Runs.
He will be missed!! Tim at least got the chance to be
on the winning side of the WORLD SERIES when the ANGELS
PLAYED THE GIANTS in 2002.

1. What prompted this decision?
I hadn't heard he was retiring. And good for him for staying with one team his whole career. That is so unusual these days. We had Edgar Martinez, who played his whole career with the Mariners.

Watching MLB.com with Angels annoucers..Steve Physiok and Rex Hudler who both were talking about
Salmon's career. Apparently he annouced it today.

3. I used to think
Kirby Puckett was a good guy too, until he retired, was arrested, and all the dirt came out. I no longer display my Kirby Pucklett jersey and am considering selling it on ebay.

10. There was a charge of groping a woman in a bar...
...of which Kirby was found "Not Guilty".

9. About Puckett...

I also heard that the bad things said about Kirby after he retired, most notably in the Sports Illustrated article, were said by a "vengeful ex-mistress with an agenda". So- keep that in mind when remembering Kirby, and before you decide to sell your jersey.

5. Hmmm. I just checked the Angels website, and didn't find anything
about it. Maybe it hasn't been posted yet.

6. Salmon along with Kirby Puckett, Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken...
are the classiest guys in the game.
A true Angel with a great career.

7. I don't know much about the California Angels
but I am impressed he stayed with one team for his entire career in baseball. That is rare these days.

the ladies wore #15 as much as the men. Lets Hope Tim has a great time even
after his carreer is over. Hope he qualifies for the Hall of Fame a few years later. Class act!

12. Sorry to burst your bubble
but the only way Salmon gets into the Hall of Fame is if he buys a ticket

I would imagine there will be a big space there, since Bonds will never make it.
Wait didn't I just say "never"..LOL..ok so Bonds will have a special wing all
to himself...called the "drug induced" wing.

14. I am not sure Salmon has the stats that would get him in!
That being said, I do like him as a player, even though he plays for the Angels.
