6. Me, and they're called aural hallucinations. |
|
Three times only in my whole life, but all three things I heard came true within a very short time.
Now if only my voices would tell me the power ball lottery numbers...

9. I have a button that says... |

"I can't come to work today, the voices told me to stay home and clean my guns." I always thought that would be a fun message to leave on my boss's voice mail.

8. I remember some articles not long ago... |

...that seemed to indicate that aural hallucinations aren't necessarily a sign of mental illness; some perfectly-functional people also have them. I found it fascinating, but I've lost all the links. :( Does anyone else remember these stories?

Like all those normal people who voted for * in 2000? They thought they heard "I'm a uniter, not a divider," when what he clearly said was "I'm an ultraconservativve nutjob who will work to ram all of my stupid partisan bills down this country's throat and do everything I can to help out my big money friends." Man I hate it when things like that happen. Sad some of them are STILL hearing things...

11. I never know how to answer this one |
|
Whenever I get dragged up in front of some shrink (either changing shrinks or a competency hearing) they as "do you hear voices in your head".
My answer:
"Yes, I have ongoing voices in my head. Most people call it the 'internal monologue'. Some of them sound like my mother. Do I act on them? No. I didn't listen to my mother either."

12. Strong european hashish |
|
gave me voices in my head, saying such beautiful & poetic things that I left the table where I was sitting and went to stand alone and listen to them.
Sometimes, when I can't fall asleep, I imagine a man standing on a podium and I let him start talking. Mostly it's just gibberish, but sometimes he'll say something good. I never remember it the next day though. I think it becomes my dreams.
