If abandoned humans got the same treatment as abandoned kittens, society

would be a lot better off.

:)

(As in loving people adopting and taking care of them... we usually leave people to rot, as we go pick up a kitten from a shelter to love and cherish.)

2. I was reading a Humane Society calendar the other day...
This lady adopts a kitten that had been kicked and badly abused...

Can't comment on "Five days in a cage and then euthanizing solution?" as right now I'd be inclined for it, but tomorrow afternoon be against it. Still, my apartment is a cage.

4. And "society" will euthanize 7 million of these "abandoned" animals
this year.

I do see your point. I think that people that are just left and forgotten should get proper attention. I do know that many animals get a great deal of attention because of the "cute" and "cuddly" aspect.

That said, we're still not going to sodium-pentabarbitol 7 million people for being surplus. Thank goodness.

6. You, sir...are dead on.
And I knew what you meant. I wish for us to treat "the forgotten" with a greater kindness, regardless of how many feet they walk upon.

7. We are a strange society
Several years ago, a woman's dog was killed at the airport here in an incident of road rage - some idiot snatched the dog through her open window and flung him into traffic. Within a month, she'd received an incredible amount of money in donations for the court case, to get a new dog, for counseling, whatever.

And while I think that's nice and shows people's compassion, at the same time, a little girl, 7 years old, had been abducted and the family and police were trying to raise donations for a reward, for searchers, etc. The girl was from a poor Hispanic family - they were only able to raise a fraction of the money compared to that raised for the dog.
