it's been quite a few months since i've been around this joint...first it was moving house to house and having irregular internet access, and then for the last 6 months i was living a sort of vagabond lifestyle, just traveling around the country in somewhat unconventional ways...hitchhiking, train hopping, that sort of thing...

but last week i broke my collarbone hopping off a moving freight (long story...but i had to jump...it was just moving a bit too fast), and have returned to the docility of my hometown to recover...

is there anyone still around who would remember me? that i would remember???

the pain hasn't been as bad as i thought it was supposed to be...but the break was bad enough to require surgery (it sort of splintered into 4 pieces and snapped in half) so i'm goin under the knife on friday...

but it's a long recovery so i'll be around here for the next couple of months at least...

i'm in burlington...hoo-ray...but i guess it could be worse...it's nice to be able to just rest and fully relax after all my rambling around, despite the reason for doing so (the collarbone); but it's mostly good to be back in wisco and i'm making semi-frequent trips to milwaukee, seeing old friends, the fam, that sort of deal; though once i heal up it's back out on the road

43. haha...no it's the real story

it makes me sound kind of like an idiot, but the fact of the matter is that it was at a split in the track, my train was moving, and there was another one stopped on the next track...the one that was stopped was headed north to philly (my destination) and the one i was on, that was moving, was heading west...and i was going up to philly to say goodbye to a girl who was leaving a couple days later...so my options were limited...

and what's kind of funny is that while what i was doing (train riding) is highly illegal, the cop who showed up on the scene thought it was awesome and didn't even think to give me a ticket...too bad that stop sign cop couldn't have been the same...
