Question for Pittsburghers |
|
What happened to Alan Cox?
Haven't heard him in weeks, and there's some achingly tepid "morning zoo" guy filling his timeslot.
And how do you spell Alan Cox?

1. Cox's contract was up for renewal in July, but mgmt. declined to renew it. |

For what it's worth, Alan Cox worked for a ClearChannel station and his political views were not the same as management's. I'm sure Cox would diplomatically say that these things (contracts not being renewed) happen in the radio biz. But let's face it: He was axed for being a liberal, and all his fans know it.

2. Yeah, that was my sense of things |

I guess ClearChannel feels that, with 104.7 offering 24/7 arch-conservative nonsense and sports blather, they couldn't possibly allow a single liberal voice onto the airwaves.
Too bad. He was all that made 105.9 worth listening to, for me. Unless I want a half-hour of "Mandatory Metallica" following the usual 25 minutes of Metallica that they play every hour anyway...
Thanks for the info.
