Why isn't Emma Thompson in more films
she is beautiful, talented, and great with accents. So why isn't she in more films? She is terrific in Angels in America.

1. I think she is choosy about her roles.
She was great in "In the Name of the Father".

2. I know
they must have kicked themselves to have released it when they did (against Schindler's List and the Piano). That film would have won a boatload of Oscars in any other year.

3. Daniel Day Lewis also was so great in it.
Pete Postlethwaite as well.

4. yeah
That was a truely great film which will forever be under rated. I wish Daniel Day Lewis did more movies as well.

5. She's not a belly-baring twenty-something bimbo
with a teenybopper following generated by a platinium pop album or a sitcom.
It's more important to graduate from modeling school than from acting school these days.

6. I have a feeling that many roles aren't offered to Emma Thompson
anymore because she is 'over 40' and Hollywood is notoriously ageist when it comes to actresses. I know she does a lot of stage work as well, which may explain why we don't see her as much in films.

7. It might have something to do with her ex-husband K. Branagh
They were a dynamite duo. Remember "Dead Again"? They were both in it. It's a movie that is worth watching twice.

When they split up, he managed to stay on the silver screen a lot, for example Rabbit Proof Fence, while Emma is hard to find. A real shame. She is first rate.

8. she has been in some recent flops that received little notice
like Maybe Baby and Judas Kiss
but your right she could certainly work more if she wanted
