I actually made money Christmas shopping today
Found a $20 bill on the ground next to the register while making my purchase. Felt a little guilty pocketing it, but as I didn't see who dropped it and I would have felt like an idiot giving it to the cashier and saying, "I think somebody dropped this, do you have a lost and found?" into my pocket it went. Besides, it partially makes up for the times I've counted my money and thought, "I KNEW I had more than this." (Of course, this often happens after a night of drinking, so I don't know for sure if I actually lost it or literally pissed it away.)

At any rate, just to be safe, did anyone lose $20 today?

And, if not, what should I spend it on?

2. Donate it to your favorite
worthy cause. Or use it to buy a gift for a needy child/family.

4. I actually thought of giving it to a panhandler I passed shortly thereafte
I would have seemed really generous. But, I thought it would be cheesy and wrong to make myself look like a big-shot on someone else's dime.

6. So .. don't give it all away
but think about at least tithing on it ... giving 10% or a couple of bucks to something you might not have donated to otherwise.

5. i don't feel bad finding money or getting more back in change
cuz half the time i'm dropping money or getting shortchanged

just enjoy it!

re: getting back too much in change, tho, a cashier who was rude to me accidentally gave me back $190 extra (thought it was 3 100 dollar bills instead of 2 100's and a ten) and I gave her back the overpayment DESPITE the fact that she was nasty to me before that

7. Getting more back in change
can be problematic because too often the cashier has to make up the shortfall in her/his till. For someone who's already poorly paid and just flustered, this can be difficult.

I'll keep money I find on the street, but give back extra change.
