"Lady in the Water" - guess the twist. |
|
Obviously, there's going to be some big surprise "twist" because that's his shtick. So what's your guess?
Mine: It's not water. IT'S VODKA!!!!!1!!!

I think it's pretty obvious from M. Night Shyamalamadingdong's previous efforts that the wolves/monsters are the good guys saving everyone from the evil woman at the bottom of the pool.
(Oops. I guess I should have put a spoiler warning in this.)

All of his movies are so boring and have this fixed equation.

I don't want ANY system of government based around a character from an M. Night Shyamalan film.

Strange women, lyin' in ponds, distributin' swords, is no basis for a system of government.

19. Well for me (SPOILERS!! about Unbreakable) |
|
The suprise wasn't "the big twist" of Mr. Glass being the villain, but rather it was my overall suprise at the entire film being a modern day, nitty-gritty, real world superhero film. That just totally blew my mind.

10. I guessed the endings of "Sixth Sense" and "The Village" halfway thru-- |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 06:49 PM by Arkham House
--both films...and that didn't detract from my enjoyment of either film, both of which I like a lot. In fact, seeing the craft and expertise he uses to create the world of the film, and how logical the ending is when it comes, is part of the fun for me... And I agree, "Unbreakable" kicked ass. "Signs", for the most part, didn't, and had a very weak ending, I thought... I'm looking forward to "Lady in the Water"...

Considering his recent work, that would be a surprise ending.

Because that is the only appropriate substance in which to store the stillborn "creativity" of the biggest hack to ever come out of Hollywood since... no wait, Schmuckmyalan IS the biggest hack to ever come out of Hollywood - no small feat. He is an utterly pretentious and whiny bore. Kudos to the original producers of the film knowing a dog when they see one, and alienating him by the novel concept of being honest about his crap, I mean craft. It provided good fodder for the most whiny, sanctimonious, and narcissistic "memoir" since Pete Rose coughed one up a while back.
30 minutes into "The Sixth Sense", I had both the original and OTHER 'twist' of that and his other films figured out: They're the product of a writer's worst conceit - that he is smarter than his audience.
I am rooting for a big flop.

23. My thought, on the twist... |
|
When I first heard Lady in the Water, I immediately thought, of the lady in lake, aka Excalibur/King Arthur legends. So, I am inclined to think, the movie is going to include, a wide array of mythological creatures, persona's. Aka Grendal, werewolves, things of that nature...:)
