Crazy Dream last night Gephardt/Dean by 7 electorial votes |
|
<Dream sequence on> So, last night I was at this swanky buffet with a bunch of upstanding young dems, wearing a double breasted suit; a dazzeling democrat damsel was dining with me. Someone rushs in and says look at the TV. We turn it on and Bush is making a speech about how the Republicans will win(he's ahead in most states at this time) and he kind of rehashes one of the terror speeches, but about Dean's meetup crew. He says something like "We have 'em on the run. We just need to pull the trigger." Everyone is sullen. Then the same guy come in saying turn on the TV. A group of Young Republicans followed the president's advice and shot a Dean for VP supporter, she wasn't dead, but in critical condition. The guy comes in a third time and says turn on the TV. This time Gephardt/Dean has surged in the midwest. They end up winning something like Colorado to put them over the top.<End dream sequence> Then Baby, my dog (I didn't name her, honest) stuck her wet nose in my eye, so I let her out to pee. I had read the Young Republican post last night right before I went to bed. I think that might have messed with my mind.

1. During Reagan's presidency I dreamed |
|
that I was brushing my teeth at this big sink and suddenly realized I was sharing the sink with Reagan, he was brushing his teeth too. I felt obliged to be polite to him, and I resented that.
My dislike for Ronald Reagan is not only because of everything he did as president. It goes way back to when he was governor of California. He cut the budget by closing prisons, mental hospitals and reform schools and just letting the inmates out on the streets - those who were dangerous, those who could not care for themselves, everyone. California has never fully gotten a handle on its mentally ill population since then.
On a very personal level, he closed the reform school my dad taught at and it devastated our family.
All in all, if I really had had to brush my teeth next to Reagan, I'd have a very tough time with it.

Thank goodness, I'm not a freak. There are other people out there who's dreams are invaded by the politics of the day!

I'm feeling much better now. I'm going to sleep tonight and dream of something nice.(No not that) Maybe about fuzzy clouds and nice open fields, a calm world that one can be at peace with.

9. I've had some wild dreams about politics! |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-30-03 07:32 PM by Sean Reynolds
A few months ago I had one about the 2000 election. I guess I was old enough to vote because I went to the polling place with my family. But the polling place was REALLY odd. It was all nice and upscale with a waiting room that had a television on. The television was airing the election results as they came in.
Anyway, we went to vote and they broke it up into two sections. One section was for those who were voting for Gore. And the other was for those voting for Bush. Of course the line (this is Utah) for Gore was small. While the line for Bush was LOOOONG. Anyway I voted and went back and sat down to watch the results.
As they came in Gore was getting KILLED. I remember someone saying that he still has a chance. But in reality, Bush won with a sweep of the whole nation. ----
One dream I had back in 1998 was even more wild. It was during the impeachment of President Clinton. It was late and I was watching TV in bed. CNN broke in and said there was something going on a the National Capitol and then they went to their cameras inside the impeachment hearings. Next thing I know Clinton KICKS the door down and enters the Capitol just SHOOTING it up with his gun. He shot EVERYONE in the building and I was in utter shock.
Shortly after I woke up.

Wasn't there a Simpsons episode where Homer made a movie like that? "President, Just say die" or something like that? Crazy enough stuff.

10. I posted that as part of my "dream team" on another thread |

You're subconscious has already digested all the relevant political info and calculated, rather accurately I must say, the inevitable ticket. :)
