I actually ate a deep-fried twinkie with choc. sauce today and liked it! |
|
:9 A special treat from today's visit to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with the kids...Damn, those things are decadent and yummy! I'd never had one before and was a bit curious, since it sounds so disgusting, but strangely intriguing...
I figured I deserved it, after riding my bike earlier in the day for 2 1/2 hrs...35 miles...:woohoo:

The 4 bull calves in the barn have all found their voices. The moo-ing is hysterical. Sunsets are amazing every single evening. The fireflies cover the fields after sunset and it's my own little haven. I wish I could find someone to paint one of those sunsets, so I can see it always.

8. Wow, that sounds idlyllic, lizziegrace! I love fireflies in the summer |
|
I lived my early years in Ohio and PA, so I always fondly remember the fireflies in the summer. The cows sound very amusing. You're living in a little slice of heaven!
Why don't YOU paint the sunset sometimes? You're a creative woman, afterall. :)

11. Art is not a strong talent. |

I can appreciate it, but I'm a musician. I'll have to look into finding someone who can.

I'm training for a metric century in the fall....I'm even toying with the idea of the full century, but it's been 6 yrs since I've ridden that far, so I'm a bit daunted by that. We'll see...
Have you been riding much this summer?

7. I've been getting in some riding. Not looking for any centuries, but I |
|
live in a nice hilly area so I generally have to exert myself, even with shorter runs.

9. Yup, I'm in the Santa Cruz mountains, so hills come with the territory. |
|
I can totally relate. I had fun earlier figuring out how many calories I burned doing today's ride...with all the climbing, it was definitely over 1500 calories burnt. heheheh. Not too bad...
Probably got it all back eating that damn deep-fried twinkie! LOL.
Good on ya for the riding, though. Doesn't it make you happy? It sure makes me happy and glad to be alive. :bounce:
Good to see ya, qnr! :hi:

I'm a little surprised at you, actually...
But hey, you know what you can do, and what you can eat.....

12. I know, it sounds totally gross, huh? |
|
LOL, that's why I HAD to try it at least once to see what it was all about. I'm sure it'll only be a one-time deal. Surprisingly enough, it wasn't THAT bad, actually. I guess I was just in a weird mood...
Nice to see you, sweetie!

|
LOL...of course, I HAD to try it, b/c it was so bizarre-sounding....
"no fan of chocolate", huh? I've heard of people like you...and I don't trust 'em. LOL. Just kidding.
You're lucky that chocolate doesn't have the pull on you that it does on many others....It's one of my many vices. :D
