2. Thanks! Hubby did the photoediting; wish I could whisk you back to AK or
even Ory-GONE...

We're going back to Canada next month -- Victoria and Nanaimo, via the ferry from Anacortes, Washington.

How are you handling the hot weather?

We're going to screenings of "Scoop" (Woody Allen's new picture) and "Miami Vice" this week. All I care about is airconditioned theaters as long as this heat wave continues.

Miami Vice actually looks decent...:) The heat, oh my word...I can't stand it at all really...but the past few days it has been around 90 degree's, I never thought I would be happy to see 90 degree weather. This past week we had three solid days over 100, and it was downright miserable.

I had a few relatives out in oregon. My aunt in Salem, and a good handful in The Dalles....:) Most of our family vacations were Washington/Oregon/Utah.

I took a whole van load of kids, to a KC Royals game last night. None of them had ever been to a ball game, even my wife, has never been to ball game. It was fun, to bad the Royals lost, but their team, sorta...well, is mediocre. And, the prices! Oh my gawd, they screw you at the stadium! 5.50 for a soda, wtf!...:) But, it was a good experience, and it was bobble head nite to...I spoiled my brothers big time...:)

on edit:spelling, spelled team=time....

6. My grandson, age 5, wants to go to a baseball game.
We'll probably take him this fall. Neither my husband nor I have been to a baseball game since a LONG time ago in Boston. We're just not a sports-oriented family, although his other grandfather is a big fan.

However, when a kid wants to learn about the sport, we're more than happy to oblige.

4. What beautiful pictures of my "other" home state.
Especially the pictures of the coast, which I think is one of the prettiest around. Thank you so much for sharing these, R_L.

5. Hi, SG. Nice of you to comment on the photos.
Yes, we were mostly East Coast people (Florida, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, New York beaches) prior to moving out west.

Our experience with Oregon is that the beaches look so beautiful and pristine (more or less, except for oil spills and bacteria) because the water is so cold. Lovely to look at but don't touch! The booming and crashing surf is really scary. Floating logs make it even more inhospitable.

When we want to swim, we go to Hawaii or Florida.

7. It is a bit cold in these parts to for swimming, though we do have
folks who will don wet suits and surf (yes, even in Oregon and Washington). But the beauty of it all, the smells, the sound, are enough for me. Going to the coast, especially the Oregon coast, is very rejuvenating!

Oh, you're in South Florida? I grew up in North Miami and attended the U. of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

That's one HOT place, "El Fuego" -- here's what else comes up in the fiery images on Google!

(That would not be me!)

If you grew up in North Miami, you were practically my neighbor! I grew up in West Palm. Now you know why Oregon is looking pretty good to me right now!!!

I spent lots of HOT NIGHTS in West Palm Beach, dining and smooching and lots else, along Worth Avenue.

OT: Just saw the new movie "Miami Vice." The Miami skyline just doesn't look at all like it did in the 1950s and 1960s when I lived there. There are so many new buildings, and they added the whole I-95 freeway, etc.

Maybe I'll get down there once again before I "shuffle off this mortal coil."

My Dad used to work a lot in this building. It's the Miami Courthouse. He was a lawyer!

12. Gorgeous! Thanks!
I'm ashamed to admit that after 11 years of living in Oregon, I still haven't been to Crater Lake. (We have family in other states and tend to go there when we have time.)

Here's a view from atop Mary's Peak.

I didn't take it, but I could have if my camera weren't broke.

on a clear day (and maybe not a hot one, either). We're right here in Beaverton, OR.

Thanks for the post!

You're in Illinois? I think I have spent a total of four nights in Chicago in the 1990s, working for a company called LoJack. I was their radio advertising manager in Boston. I'd like to see YOUR state, too!
