Anyone know the deal on BATTLESTAR Galactica?
I watched 2 2-hour episodes, and there's been nothing since. Is that it? I was really into it and looking forward to more. Anybody know?

3. I'm not sure either...it's confusing...
I think they are going to start the series soon...

Here's the website...
Battelstar Galactica

Doesn't say if or when the series will start...at least I can't find the info...

Looks good to me though...I didn't get up at all during the two episodes...

5. 'twas a miniseries
And a rather good one.

If a new bona fide series is made, lets hope it doesn't lose focus like how the original show did...

6. The original show turned to crud as soon as . . .
they brought in that damned robotic dog thing. I HATED THAT THING. :) :) :)

That said, the new one was pretty sweet, and I actually recorded it onto my hard drive using my TV tuner card :).

17. ARGH!
I hope they will repeat it once more; I should have used my tv capture device! Still, SP VHS copies will suffice...

8. IT WAS AWESOME!!! I really liked the mini I know alot of folks
didn't like the Lady President and the Breast Cancer thing but I think that was kewl. To see a woman lead in such a difficult situation with personal problems.

I like it when she told Adamas "I shouldn't have to be the one to have to tell you this, it's over, we lost."

9. I watched it twice and liked it alot
While I used to watch it in the 1970s, I remembered no details and never saw the revival.
It's kind of like Lord of the Rings for me...I read the books over and over and over when I was in high school in the 1960s but never read them after that...so when I saw the movies, I remembered the story arc but not details....It was great seeing it with fresh eyes and not preconceived notions about how it should be.

15. she IS a badass...
good plot twist for her NOT to accept the olive branch held out at the end of the show...it almost looks like the producers were leaving some stuff in should they get the series go ahead.

Man, the blonde cyborg was eeevvviiillll, as Dr. Evil would say.

I wasn't expecting much, but was really impressed with the story, action, etc.

I don't watch too much TV...24 is the only show I watch regularly...but I'll be waiting for this one.

SCI FI Channel's original miniseries Battlestar Galactica averaged a 3.5 rating (2.9 million households) in its Dec. 8 and 9 premiere, the biggest audience for any original miniseries on cable for the year. The four-hour miniseries also achieved SCI FI's best ratings for 2003, the network reported.

I liked this article too:
--snip
SCI FI Wire has learned that production will begin Dec. 15 in Australia on a new four-hour Farscape miniseries, with stars Ben Browder, Claudia Black and others reprising their roles. A source close to the production told the Wire that series creators Rockne O'Bannon and David Kemper are readying a script for the miniseries, which as yet has no air date and no TV distribution deal. The SCI FI Channel, which originally aired four seasons of Farscape, had no comment on the report. A spokesperson for Jim Henson Co., which produced the series, also had no comment.

16. I'm just now watching the miniseries. GALACTICA ROCKS!!!
This is easily the best sci-fi TV since Babylon 5.

A friend of mine recorded the two parter on Sunday and got the tape to me last night. I don't have cable but would seriously consider getting it if Sci-Fi makes a series out of this.

BTW, I was a huge fan of the original show back in the late 70s. It just had a great storyline and some awesome design--particularly the Cylons and the Colonial Vipers, which were, and still are, cool as hell.

I don't mind that Starbuck is now a woman, because she's easy on the eyes and she's still funny and kicks a**. Olmos is a much better and more convincing Adama than Lorne Greene, who--let's face it--is and always will be Ben Cartwright of Bonanza.

I also loved how this latest version made so many references to the original series. It's obvious that the people behind this one loved the good parts of the original series as much as I did, while rejecting all that was stupid or didn't make sense.

I sincerely hope they make a series out of this. Battlestar Galactica actually has a great message for our (and all) time: Would you take your world for granted if, suddenly, you didn't have it anymore? Food for thought.
