Poll question: I had a rotten day.
My annual job performance review was lousy.

I drank eight cups of coffee at the staff holiday party and had the jitters all the way through my Psychology final tonight.

My wife is in Seattle this week on a work junket and I'm home in Detroit.

So, DU, what say you:

2. So what'd they gig you on?
Not being excited enough about "finding New Cheez" or are you fucking away too much time web surfing (one of the things that torpedoed me last year)

5. LOL - "unconstructive use of down time"
but they shor don't mind me staying late when needed, even if they didn't ask nicely

I work for a university for chris'sake. They shouldn't give me a T1 line if they didn't expect me to use it!

6. Ain't that the truth?
Lemme guess, you work in IT, your department just got taken over by a bunch of private-sector whizz kids who are bringing in all their private-sector headaches and stress, and can't figure out why you're not excited about putting up with it all for public-sector pay.

Am I close?

Yep, I work for a University, too.

8. Worse
A budget office in perpetual cutback mode. We're not the most popular people on campus.

None?

Then you need absolution

Say ten "GO BLUES" and resolve not to be such a baby again.

4. Perhaps a picture of our Governor might help?
Just look at her.

YOWZA.

Seriously, though... I hope things get better.

7. My Granholm story
Edited on Tue Dec-16-03 10:35 PM by ajacobson
Not too long after she took office, the Guv came to Wayne State to meet with our prez Irvin Reid (who is also head of the state universities' presidents council). Governmental Affairs put out a memo for people to greet her on our floor (same floor as prez office). Well me and four other people from my office(Budget office) came out to greet her, and she shook our hands. As she was shaking my hand, she asked what department we were from. We all said "the Budget office." Granholm grabs my hand and jokingly says "you don't have a knife do you?" (All the public univs were getting cut bad in the state appropriation at the time) It was pretty funny.
